One social media user wrote, “Can’t believe they took a hashtag for a sensible reason and turned it into a silly headline.”

The teaser of the upcoming Telugu film Men Two was released on Tuesday, February 13 and since then the film has become a hot topic of debate on social media. The upcoming film with the tagline ‘Being a Man is not Easy’ is produced by director Srikanth G Reddy. The teaser of Men Two has drawn widespread criticism online for its central theme. While some have condemned the film’s title for defaming the sensitive movement ‘Me Too’, many are unhappy with the story that a place can be peaceful only without women.

The teaser begins with references to sensitive issues including menopause, menstrual cramps and mental anxiety, indicating that they begin with ‘men’. While the clip labels the men as ‘shameless penises’ in the first few seconds, it then tries to show the other side of the picture. A group of men claim they are hunting women by tracing several scenarios. In one, a man is fired on a complaint by a female colleague, in the other, a man is shown under duress

as punishment by his wife. In the final scene, three men stand in front of a beautiful landscape only to point out that the place appears to be peaceful because there are no women around. Watch the teaser here:

The story and title of the film is not being liked by the hordes of people on Twitter. Some of them have also expressed their candid opinion on the micro-blogging site. One user wrote, “Sad. It is true that there is a crisis of masculinity that needs to be addressed, but labeling women as monsters (functioning) seems really pedestrian, which is stupid. The film sounds like a GenZ version of WhatsApp Uncle ‘Wife Jokes’. This is a very sad thing.”

Another asked, “Is this a joke?”

Another joined in, “I can’t believe they took a hashtag for a sensible cause and turned it into the silly title of a movie victimizing men.”

Meanwhile, a user said, “Me Too empowered victims to come forward with stories of harassment/abuse regardless of their gender. For all the garbage men out there, there are also many suffering men. I don’t care about the plot, the title itself is so wrong. You somehow make everything about yourself eh?

The movie stars Naresh Agastya, Brahmaji, Hasrhs Chemudi, Riya Sumna, and Priyanka Sharma in key roles.
