Just days after tying the knot with Nupur Shikhare, Ira Khan, daughter of Aamir Khan, has playfully teased her father for his emotional outburst during her wedding ceremony. Sharing a picture from the marriage registration event on January 3, Ira made fun of Aamir’s tears, calling them ‘fake tears (real ones coming)’.
In the shared image, Ira and Nupur can be seen signing the marriage registration document in the presence of friends and family at the Taj Lands End in Bandra.Alongside the photo, Ira wrote, “The inappropriate comment made too close to the mic,” indicating her lighthearted banter with her emotional father.
Ira also posted a series of unseen pictures from her Udaipur wedding on Instagram. In the post, she provided a glimpse into the various moments of the celebration and the joyous atmosphere that surrounded the couple.

She wrote, “First we were married🤭 (this will make sense with the later captions). We journeyed (I came ALL THE WAY from the 20th floor), we played (I won), we sang, @nupur_popeye and I didn’t dance – we smiled… we did paperwork!! Thank you for making us feel special and for your good-natured participation in our slightly haphazard production with its many last-minute change of plans! 🤭🤗 We met people haven’t seen in ages!! One of the things I was really looking forward to was to meet all the people in our lives, from all its different parts. Thank you to everyone who came❤️ And thank you, Taj, for your beautiful space and gracious hospitality! Always making us feel looked after.”

Ira and Nupur got engaged in September 2022. Nupur proposed to Ira at the Ironman Italy, where he participated. Their Udaipur wedding on January 10 followed Christian traditions. It was officiated by Ira’s cousin, Zayn Marie Khan. The couple sealed it with a kiss after being pronounced man and wife.

Later, they hosted a reception for the industry at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre on January 13, which was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood including superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The newlyweds are currently enjoying their honeymoon in Bali.
