Ishq Vishk actress Shenaz Treasury on Tuesday revealed that she is suffering from a disease that prevents her from recognizing faces. The condition is known as prosopagnosia, a neurological disorder that causes the inability to recognize faces. In a series of Instagram stories, Shahid KapoorK’s co-star shared screenshots explaining the meaning of the disorder. Together she wrote, “Yes, I have been diagnosed with prosopagnosia. Now I understand why I can never put faces together. It is a cognitive disorder. I am always ashamed. I look at faces. Can’t recognize. I recognize – voices”

Sharing a screengrab of the signs and symptoms of the disorder, the actress wrote, “Yes, I am! It takes me a minute to record who that person is, sometimes even a close friend whom I have met for a while. I haven’t seen it.”

She further urged her fans and followers to be kind and understand that this is a disorder and she is not isolated or arrogant. “I’ve always felt so shy that I mix people up and can’t recognize people’s faces—even close friends. If I see them after a few years—I can’t recognize them,” she said. concluded.
