The temporary cooks of Jai Bhanushali and Mahi Vij, who had allegedly threatened to kill him and their two-year-old daughter Tara, were arrested by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday evening. As per the latest development, the cook named Santosh Yadav (40) of Nehru Nagar, Juhu was booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after the couple filed a complaint against him. Mahi had revealed that the cook threatened to stab her with a dagger and abused her and her family. He shared details about the horrific incident with the cook in now-deleted tweets.
As reported by Mid-Day, a police officer said, “The actor had approached the police through Twitter and later lodged an FIR at Oshiwara police station. The accused was charged under Section 509 (Word, gesture or act) A case was registered under IPC sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) on the evening of June 29. Police arrested him on the same day and on June 30. He was produced before the Andheri Metropolitan Court.”
In the now-deleted tweets, Mahi had said, “I am sitting in fear of me at Oshiwara police station and my daughter’s life helps us @MumbaiPolice openly told me that he will kill me with a dagger and he Will be out on bail.”
She also said, “The video I have is that he is harassing me @MumbaiPolice.” In another tweet, she said, “Afraid for my life and my daughter’s life. Police and Jai caught this cook and now let him out on bail to kill us. What was shown to the police was Chaku Maar Dunga Tujhe” .”
Mahi Vij and Jai Bhanushali tied the knot in 2011. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Tara in 2019. They are both popular faces in the television industry.
