Visakhapatnam: The Indian Navy has started hosting the seventh edition Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023 (JIMEX 23) in Visakhapatnam, The exercise is scheduled to take place from July 5 to 10.
This edition marks the 11th anniversary of JIMEX since its inception in 2012.

JIMEX 23 will run for six days and will consist of two phases. The first phase, called the Harbor Phase, will take place in Visakhapatnam and will include professional, sports and social contacts. Thereafter, both the navies will engage in joint exercises at sea with a focus on enhancing their combat prowess and interoperability in the surface, sub-surface and air domains.
