Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday announced an initial relief amount of Rs 3500 each to 30 lakh affected farmers in the state. On October 29, the state government had declared 226 of the state’s 260 blocks as drought-affected. Addressing a public meeting in Lukaiyatand area of ​​Ramgarh district, he said that this is just an initial relief. They will get more relief as our government has demanded a drought relief package from the Centre.

He said that soon camps would be organized at village and panchayat level to distribute the initial relief amount to the affected farmers. The CM on Sunday visited his native Nemra village to pay homage to his grandfather Sobran Manjhi on his 65th death anniversary.

Recalling his childhood in Nemra, Soren said the village was backward and its residents were very poor. There was no paved road. Me and everyone else had to walk to their homes. Now not only the village but the picture of the entire state has changed. The school has been approved in Lukayatand and the road is being built.
