Jharkhand Police has registered a case against 12 Maoists in connection with the murder of a forest worker. Let us tell you that Dev Kumar Prajapati (35 years old), a forest worker, was beaten to death in Durup panchayat of Latehar district. The murder was blamed on a group of Maoists. Now the police have registered an FIR against 12 Maoists in this murder case.

Latehar SP gave information

Latehar SP Anjani Anjan said that an FIR has been registered against 12 Maoists named and many other unknowns have also been made accused. All of them are members of the banned CPI (Maoist). Maoists’ regional commander Chhotu Kharwar, zonal commander Manish, sub-zonal commander Ujjwal and Pradeep have been named in the FIR. The SP said that raids are being conducted to nab the Maoists.

Forest worker was beaten to death

Please tell that Dev Prajapati used to work as a forest tracker on daily wages in Palamu Tiger Reserve. The Maoists suspected that he was a police informer. After the murder, the Maoists had also written a warning on the forest worker’s house and asked people not to inform the police. The Maoists also thrashed and injured four others. On the other hand, in Latehar district itself, CRPF jawans recovered IED from Maoist-dominated Kuku village. Pramod Sahu, Commandant of 112th Battalion of CRPF has given this information. The IED has been defused.
