The medical officer in charge of the hospital, Dr. Govind Seth informed the civil surgeon about the incident.
The matter reached the DC through social media, taking cognizance of which he has sought a report from the civil surgeon.

The DC then ordered the termination of the services of ‘Dhai’, who belonged to an outsourced company, and directed the SDM to register an FIR against the GNM and ANM.

The DC said, “It was a shameful act and a heinous crime. I have directed Garhwa SDM Raj Maheshwaram to register an FIR against GNM Nirmala Kumari and ANM Manju Kumari, while ‘Dhai’ Daulat Devi has been dismissed from service with immediate effect.
Rajmati Devi, the grandmother of the dead child, said that her daughter Madhu was admitted to the Majhaon Referral Hospital at 3 pm on Saturday due to labor pain and she gave birth to the dead child at 4.30 pm.
Rajamanti said the family members were making arrangements for the last rites of the body when the health workers, instead of handing it over, dumped it in a burning garbage dump. Civil surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar said, “It is an inhumane act to burn the dead body of the newborn instead of handing it over to the relatives.”
