Jharkhand: Health minister reached hospital after hearing woman’s request, donated blood, asked for a bottle of blood for ailing husband

Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister Banna Gupta on Saturday donated blood to a needy patient undergoing treatment at the Government MGM Hospital here. He had come here to attend an event.

According to the information, on receiving information about the Health Minister coming to the hospital, a woman reached out to him. Reaching Health Minister Gupta, the woman pleaded with him to arrange a bottle of blood for her 49-year-old husband, who was admitted to the hospital.

The woman told Health Minister Gupta that my husband needed a bottle of blood. But I am not getting any blood donor. After hearing this, Minister Gupta himself decided to donate blood. A woman resident of Kalikapur in Potka block of the district thanked the minister Gupta for donating blood and providing a bottle of blood. After this the minister told reporters that I am the first person. I did my duty to save the life of a sister’s husband.

Minister Gupta has already done charity work. In the month of March also, while on his way to Ranchi to attend the assembly session, he had helped three youths injured in a road accident at Dulmi in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Seeing them, the minister got down from his vehicle and called an ambulance and waited on the spot till the victims were shifted to a nearby hospital.

On Saturday also, Gupta inaugurated a center at MGM Hospital where X-ray, Ultrasound and CT scan can be done at nominal cost. It will be operated on PPP mode.
