The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday reserved its order in a case filed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against a criminal case filed in Ranchi for allegedly making statements against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Judge hears criminal complaint filed

The court of Justice Ambuj Nath completed the hearing on a criminal miscellaneous petition filed by Rahul Gandhi on a criminal complaint filed by Naveen Jha. Naveen Jha had alleged that during the 2018 Congress session in Chaibasa, Rahul Gandhi had made objectionable remarks against the then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah.

Insult of BJP members and workers

Jha, in his petition filed on April 24, 2022, said that the statement made by Rahul Gandhi in the meeting has not been contradicted by him and is an insult to the BJP, its members and workers.

Rahul Gandhi has three cases registered in Jharkhand

The court, after hearing both the sides, directed them to submit the gist of their arguments in writing by Wednesday. At present, three cases are registered against Gandhi in Jharkhand, out of which two are registered in the capital Ranchi and one in Chaibasa.
