BJP workers marching towards the secretariat as part of the Jharkhand Assembly gherao program clashed with the police. The march was organized by the BJP to protest against the deteriorating law and order situation, prevailing corruption and high unemployment rate in the mineral-rich state. Police used tear gas, water cannon and lathicharged the protesters to stop them. Prohibitory orders have been imposed under section 144 of CrPC. Chief Minister Hemant Soren is in Sahibganj for a scheduled programme. The officers provided this information.
