A forest officer of Jharkhand gave information about the Garhwa incident on Tuesday. The Forest Department suspects that three children in the area have died in this leopard attack. The department is preparing to declare him a man-eater.

The six-year-old girl killed in a leopard attack has been identified as Sita Kumari in Garhwa Sevadih village, 210 km from capital Ranchi. When she went to the toilet, the leopard took her away. Garhwa’s Divisional Forest Officer Shashi Kumar said that when the villagers saw the leopard carrying the girl by the mouth, they attacked it with sticks. On this the leopard dragged the girl and ran away into the forest. When the villagers reached there chasing, the leopard ran away leaving the girl. By then the child had died.

The local forest officials provided immediate assistance of Rs 10,000 to the family of the deceased girl. According to the government provisions, the fixed compensation will be given later after completing the legal formalities. Forest Divisional Officer Shashi Kumar said that this is the third incident in the last 10 days. Earlier on December 14, a six-year-old child was killed by a leopard in Rodo village under Bhandaria police station area of ​​the district.

On December 10, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly killed by the same leopard in Chipdohar area of ​​Barwadih block of Latehar district in Palamu division. The DFO of Garhwa said that the forest officials are making all possible efforts to keep the leopard in the cage. We have put up a cage in the area where he had abducted the girl on Monday, he said. He can come to this area again to find her.
