Jharkhand: Students preparing for competitive exams will get financial help soon, CM Hemant Soren announced

The state government will now provide financial assistance to the students preparing for competitive exams in Jharkhand. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said that the government will soon bring a new policy under which financial assistance will be provided to students preparing for competitive examinations.

75 percent reservation for local people in private companies
Soren was speaking on the occasion of providing private sector employment to local candidates in the state and distribution of appointment letters to about 11,000 youth in the private sector. The CM said that the cabinet on Friday approved the rules for the new policy in the private sector. He said that under the new policy, private companies will have to provide 75 per cent reservation for local people.

Addressing the youth who received the appointment letters, the CM said, students who want to prepare for any competitive exam like JPSC, UPSC, engineering, medical and government jobs will be provided financial assistance for the preparation. We are going to bring a policy in this regard very soon.

He said that the recruitment exercise is going on in the state for the last few days. We have recently given appointment letters to more than 250 people who have cleared JPSC exams. Out of the total number of people who cleared the JPSC exam, 35 persons belonged to Below Poverty Line (BPL) which is a big achievement.

Soren said that for the first time, we have also recruited agricultural officers and employees in the forensic lab. Jharkhand is called a backward state. But, we are going to make it a leading state in the country in the next five to seven years. He said that for this we need everyone’s cooperation.

11391 youths were given appointment letters
Jharkhand Labor Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam and Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Manjhi were also present on the occasion. Praveen Kumar Toppo, Secretary, Labor, Employment, Training and Skills Department said that since April this year till now 11,391 youths who got jobs in the private sector have been given appointment letters.

Toppo said that a total of 5,332 youth have got employment in apparel sector, 1,041 in health care, 1,168 in management and entrepreneurship, 785 in automotive sector and 118 in telecom sector.
