Actor Sooraj Pancholi was facing trial for allegedly abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide.
A special CBI court on Friday acquitted Sooraj Pancholi, accused of abetting his then-girlfriend Jiah Khan’s suicide in 2013, citing lack of evidence against him.
After this, the special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted him on Friday. Bollywood Actor Sooraj Pancholi’s mother Rabia Khan, who has been accused of abetting suicide of actor Jiah Khan, spoke exclusively to News18 Shosha and said that she will keep fighting for her daughter and will not lose faith in the judiciary.
A special CBI court on Friday acquitted Sooraj, accused of abetting the suicide of his then girlfriend Jia in 2013, citing lack of evidence against him. Jiah was found dead on June 3, 2013 at her Juhu home in Mumbai. A week later on the basis of a letter seized, purportedly written by the actress, the Mumbai Police booked Sooraj under section 306 (abetment of suicide) and arrested him. Later, on the orders of the Bombay High Court, the CBI took over the investigation from the Mumbai Police.
Rabia, who was present in the court when the verdict was announced, has now come down heavily on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for “not doing its homework”.
“They accuse a person and after ten years they come out and say they have no evidence. What evidence were they looking for? They didn’t produce anything in the court that they were looking for. Mobile phone It was not the same. The dupatta was not the same,” Rabia claimed.
Rabia further alleged that the original evidence in the case “disappeared”. He added.
Rabia concluded by saying that she would file an appeal in the High Court against the order of the special CBI court. “I want to continue fighting for my daughter. I have to have faith in the judiciary. If I don’t, I won’t be able to fight. But most importantly, I need to believe in myself because positivity can change things. I have been fighting for the truth since the beginning. I haven’t spoken to the Pancholi family in all these years and neither have they.”
