Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth about Rs 7,600 crore in Chhattisgarh. This was Modi’s first visit to the Congress-ruled state after being elected prime minister for a second term in 2019. The visit also assumes significance as elections are due in the state later this year. Apart from inaugurating several projects, the Prime Minister also launched the distribution of cards of the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat scheme to the beneficiaries in the state. Apart from this, he also flagged off a new train between Antagarh and Raipur in Kanker district of the state.
Addressing a public gathering in Raipur, PM Modi talked about the Centre’s commitment towards the people of the state. He also said, “Today is a historic day in the development journey of Chhattisgarh.” Speaking further, he said that the projects will boost infrastructure development in Chhattisgarh and progress of the state.
