Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud attended a program of the Bar Council of India on Sunday. He said that for a very long time we have been treating the youth in the legal profession as slaves. CJI asked how many seniors are there who give decent salary to their juniors. You should give good salary to junior lawyers and not treat them as slaves.
The CJI further said that the legal profession is an ‘old boys club’. Here through a network opportunities are available in the Chamber of Senior Advocate. Are juniors given good salary? There are many junior lawyers who do not even have their own chamber and chair. All this should change and it is our responsibility as seniors.
On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav scored 111 runs in just 51 balls in the second T20 International against New Zealand at the Bay Oval ground in Mount Maunganui.
