A New York jury ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump was liable for sexually assaulting a former US magazine columnist in the mid-1990s, several US media reported.

The New York Times, CNN and others reported that nine jurors decided after a civil trial that the former president did not rape E. Jean Carroll, but found him liable for defamation.

The report said Trump was ordered to pay damages to Carroll totaling $5 million.
