Justice Nilay Vipinchandra Anjaria takes oath as chief justice of Karnataka HC | Bengaluru News – Times of India

Justice Nilay Vipinchandra Anjaria took oath as the new Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on Sunday. The ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan’s ‘Glass House’ and was administered by Karnataka governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.
Notable attendees included Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, legislative council chairman Basavaraj Horatti, and law and parliamentary affairs minister H K Patil. Justice Anjaria was previously a Judge of the Gujarat high court and was recommended for the position by the Supreme Court Collegium earlier this month.
He succeeded Justice P S Dinesh Kumar, who retired on February 24 upon reaching the age of 62. Prior to his appointment as a judge, Justice Anjaria had an extensive legal career practicing civil, constitutional, company law, labour, and service matters in the Gujarat high court.
