Justice Served: Two Men Found Guilty of Burning Girl to Death in Dumka | Ranchi News – Times of India

Dumka: The court of the district and sessions judge (1) cum special POCSO court of Dumka, Ramesh Chandra, on Tuesday declared two men, accused of killing a Class XII student on August 23, 2022, guilty of commiting the crime.
The court has fixed March 28 as the date to announce the quantum of punishment.
A Class XII student was set on fire by her stalker, Shahrukh Hussain, while she was asleep in her room on August 23, 2022.
The victim succumbed to her burn injuries on August 27, 2022, during treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) in Ranchi.
Before her death, she named Shahrukh of having set her on fire along with an accomplice, Chhotu alias Naeem, for rejecting his marriage proposal.
“I wish he (Shahrukh) dies the same way as I am dying,” the victim stated in her police statement.
Both the accused are lodged in Dumka central jail. They were produced before the fast track court during a virtual hearing on Tuesday.
A total of 51 witnesses were produced by the prosecution to support the case.
“The court while declaring both the accused guilty fixed March 28 for announcing the quantum of punishment,” defence lawyer Sikandar Kumar said.
