Kang Tae Oh to make FIRST appearance post-military service as host of ‘SNL Korea’ | – Times of India

Kang Tae Oh is set to take the spotlight as the host of an upcoming episode of ‘SNL Korea’. Coupang Play revealed on April 5 that Kang Tae Oh will be headlining Episode 7 of Season 5 of the ‘SNL Korea’ reboot.
This appearance marks Kang Tae Oh’s first television outing since his discharge from military service. The actor completed his military duties on March 19, had served as an active duty soldier for approximately one year and six months since enlisting in September 2022.
Expressing his excitement about the upcoming opportunity, Kang Tae Oh shared, “Even during my military service, I enjoyed watching SNL and gained a lot of energy from it. I’ve always admired the crew’s passion and dedication to their comedic craft, so it’s a special feeling to be appearing on the show myself. With gratitude to the audience and fans who have been waiting for me, I will do my best to create a legendary episode”, as reported by Soompi.
The Korean iteration of ‘Saturday Night Live’ originally aired for nine successful seasons from 2011 to 2017. Following a brief hiatus, a fresh reboot of the beloved program debuted in 2021 on the OTT platform Coupang Play. The reboot features a stellar cast including Shin Dong Yup, Kwon Hyuk Soo, Ahn Young Mi, Jung Sang Hoon, Kim Min Kyo, and more. Meanwhile, ‘SNL Korea’ is broadcasted every Saturday at 8 p.m.
