Kangana Ranaut educates fans on REAL inspiration for Tejas tableau at Republic Day parade | – Times of India

At a time when ‘Fighter’ and movies on pilots of the Indian Airforce are hitting the headlines, those tuning in to watch the Republic Day parade were in for a surprise to find a tableau with the same theme.
The float of Madhya Pradesh, which was a part of the parade on Friday, featured the theme of ‘Self-reliant and progressive; women’ of the state. It saw an IAF fighter pilot with a jet by her side.Fans on social media misinterpreted the float as a recreation of Kangana Ranaut‘s 2023 film ‘Tejas‘ which was based on the story of India’s first female fighter pilot.
On seeing the viral clip from the parade, a fan asked, “Was that Kangana & Tejas in Madhya Pradesh Tableau?”
The tweet caught the attention of Kangana, who candidly replied, “I wish!!”

The actress then went on to humbly explain and educate fans about the real inspiration behind the float. She tweeted, “It was depicting Avani Chaturvedi the first female fighter pilot of India from MP.”
The post prompted shocked responses from many. “So many of us thought it was you!! You also portrayed Role of female Fighter Pilot in Tejas so remarkably,” read a reply.
“Nice to know this,” said another.
Kangana ushered in a wave of aerial films in Bollywood with the release of ‘Tejas’ in October 2023. The film saw the actress play the role of an Indian Air Force officer who sets out on a mission to rescue an Indian spy from Pakistan. The film, made on a Rs 60 crore budget, failed to hit the mark at the box office.
