Produced by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, the trailer of ‘Chhatrapati’ gave the audience a glimpse of the high-octane action and heavy dose of entertainment in store. Telugu superstar Srinivasa Bellamkonda was debuting in Bollywood with this film. Srinivasa Bellamkonda had earlier said, “Chhatrapati is a special film for me in many ways. VV Vinayak directed me in my Telugu debut and he is also the director of my Bollywood debut, which makes this collaboration even more important. Chhatrapati ticks all the boxes of a commercial potboiler and we can’t wait to bring it to the audiences. I am very humbled to be here in Indore city and promote the film. The love from the audience and fans has been overwhelming.”

News18 Shosha reviewed the film saying, “The concept of Chhatrapati is not bad on paper. The normal family gets lost in the chaos, one child turns good while the other turns bad only to have to go through situations that test their characters.” It’s a tried and tested formula of parenting in Bollywood. The film’s story writer V. Vijayendra Prasad has incorporated all the elements and characters to make it a masala watch, even if it feels outdated.”

The review also states, “However, the screenplay, dialogues and uneven editing make this film a bit difficult to watch. Chhatrapati seems to have cobbled together a series of scenes to ensure a timely release.” . A lot of continuity errors and location errors are visible. Apart from the error in locations, props were also conveniently introduced into the scenes out of the blue, leaving you confused as to where it appeared from.”
