Karan Johar felt honored that Deepika and Ranveer chose his show to share a glimpse of their beautiful wedding. Along with the audience, he for the very first time saw some unseen footage that had some sweet notes shared by the families, certain clips from the rituals, and a lot more. As soon as the video was over, Karan couldn’t hold his tears back.
He got up and hugged the couple, as he felt emotional. After a long hug, and a failed attempt to control his tears, Karan spoke his heart out. “I am not in a relationship, and I am kind of single. And it just makes me feel like what I am losing out on not being in one. You don’t have a partner of your own to share the nothings of your day with. Every day I wake up and a little part of me feels that vacuum,” he stated.Karan spoke about being single and the void that he feels since right now he misses the soul connection. He said, “I know I have my kids and mom, but when I see this and I see you; and I know relationships are tough but that soul connection with a person that you can wake up with, hold their hand, and see your day through tough times.”
With a little stammering in his voice, he tried to articulate his feelings. He never had a moment like this on his show. He said he just wishes that someday just like Deepika and Ranveer, he too has a story to tell.
“I feel so happy for you and I felt so alone yet. And I hope this manifests into like I hope I have a story to tell,” he added.
Sharing his thoughts on the beautiful bond that Deepika Ranveer has, the filmmaker further mentioned that the happiness and the joy that he sees in them is just so pure and it is something so hard to achieve especially in the world of glitz and glamour.
“You are massive motion picture movie stars, where the world’s gaze is on you, the world looks at you and I know it is tough to even balance this relationship in a career and in an industry like ours. But I think to make it seem like it’s pure. And it seems like it is coming from a place of truth. And that’s everything,” he said.
Upon hearing all this, Deepika as a true friend shared some wise words with Karan. She said, “When the time is right, it will all fall into place.” The actress told him that just for the sake of moving forward, a lot of people rush into marriage or relationships and they end up being stuck with the wrong person. A perfect marriage is not waking up to a cup of coffee offered by your partner, it has much more to do with the efforts, commitment, and compromises.
“Only if you know you found the right person, only then it is worth it. Otherwise, you are better off just being (on your own),” added the ‘Jawan’ actress.
Agreeing with Deepika’s advice, Karan said, “I feel that I rather be single than be attached to a person with whom it will be a tough journey with.”
The first episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ season 8 started on a light note but eventually, it took a deep heartwarming turn. Later of course there were fun games and hilarious moments that the fans can stream online, as the episode is out on the digital platform.
