Amit Shah in Karnataka: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) in the poll-bound Karnataka. He termed both the parties as “parivarvadi” (dynastic politics) and corrupt and also urged the people of Mandya and old Mysore region to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections in the state.

The BJP is aiming to win an absolute majority in Vokkaliga-dominated Old Mysore, as the party is considered weak in the region.

Addressing a massive public meeting as part of the ongoing ‘Jan Sankalp Yatra’ in the state, Shah said JD(S)-Congress, Congress-JD(S) is enough and the people of Mysuru region should give victory to the BJP . this time with a majority

Repeated corruption by Congress-JD(S) stalled Karnataka’s progress: Shah

Congress and JD(S) both are dynastic parties, they are corrupt pirates. We have seen the administration of both the parties, when Congress comes Karnataka becomes Delhi’s ATM and when JD(S) comes it becomes ATM for a family. The repeated corruption by these two parties has stalled the progress of Karnataka.”

Saying that the time has come to get rid of ‘nepotism’ and corruption, Shah asked the people to give the BJP an opportunity to form a government with absolute majority once and bring in a “double engine” government.

Accusing both Congress and JD(S) of being “corrupt, communal and protectors of criminals”, he said, “In the next five years under the leadership of Modiji, we will take Karnataka forward on the path of progress.”

Recalling that he had started campaigning for the 2018 Assembly polls from Mandya, he said, the people of Karnataka gave the BJP a chance to form the government by making us the single largest party.

Then in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections under Modi’s leadership, Karnataka got 25 out of 28 seats for the BJP, with 52 per cent vote-share, he said.
