“Notices have been issued and they have been clearly told not to make such statements in future,” Kateel told reporters after the meeting.

Asked who has been served notices, Kateel said without naming names, “We have served notices to 11 people so far.”

Yeddyurappa said that instructions have been given to the people of the party that none of them should make any such statement which would cause embarrassment to the BJP.

“We have called and spoken to those who made such statements. They have been told to be vigilant and ensure that such a situation does not arise, failing which appropriate action will be taken. A decision has been taken in this regard.”

The Karnataka BJP on Thursday issued a notice to former Honnali MLA MP Renukacharya for his “anti-party” comments. He has been given a week’s time to give a written reply to the show cause notice issued by the state disciplinary committee of the party.
