BJP won by 16 votes in Jayanagar with the help of postal votes
BJP’s CK Ramamurthy won from Jayanagar seat by just 16 votes. In fact, Ramamurthy, who was losing to Sowmya Reddy of Congress by a margin of about 300 votes, had demanded a recount. Ramamurthy defeated Sowmya Reddy when postal votes were counted again. Several party leaders, including state Congress president DK Shivakumar and working president Ramalinga Reddy, opposed the recounting.

Karnataka Election Result: Postal ballots will be re-counted in Jayanagar
Election Commission orders recount of postal ballots in Karnataka’s Jayanagar seat in view of close contest. Let me tell you, Congress candidate Sowmya Reddy was leading by 294 votes from this seat.
An Election Commission official said the recount of postal ballots was ordered following Ramamurthy’s appeal. Congress state president DK Shivakumar and party’s working president Ramalinga Reddy, along with other office-bearers, protested against the election body’s order. Out of the total 224 seats in Karnataka, Jayanagar is the only region where the result is not out yet.
