How to check your polling station for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023?
- Log on to the official website of Karnataka Election Information System
- Click on the link ‘Know your polling booth’ on the homepage
- Here, you can find out about your polling station using two options – ‘Search by Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) Number’ or ‘Search by Name’
- If you know your EPIC number, just enter it in the required field and click on submit to know about your polling station.
- If you do not know your EPIC number, go to ‘Search by Name’ option
- Enter the required details – District, Assembly Constituency, Name, Relation Name, Gender
- click on search
- You will come to know about your assigned polling station.
The Election Commission has set up a total of 58,282 polling stations to ensure smooth election process on 224 seats in the state. According to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, there are 5,21,73,579 eligible voters in Karnataka in this year’s assembly elections.
This includes 2.62 crore male and 2.59 crore female voters. There has been an increase of 9.17 lakh first time voters in the state since the last assembly elections in 2018-19.
This year ECI is also giving special facility to vote from home. Karnataka has 5.71 lakh disabled people and 12,15,763 elders above the age of 80 years. All these groups will be able to cast their vote from home.
As per the last report released by ECI, 99,529 people have qualified to vote through this facility. This includes 80,250 voters above the age of 80 years and 19,729 differently-abled voters.
