BRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao congratulated the Congress party in Karnataka, which is set to form government in the southern state.

The ruling BRS said on Saturday Karnataka The election results will have no bearing on Telangana while people should be thanked for “rejecting ugly and divisive politics”.

However, the state unit of the Congress insisted that it would repeat its performance in Telangana in the coming elections.

According to the Election Commission’s website, Congress has taken a clear lead by winning 107 seats and is ahead in 29 other seats.

BRS sources had earlier said that the party led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is supporting the JD(S) in the Karnataka Assembly polls and has not fielded any candidate for the May 10 polls as its ally is in the fray. .

Buoyed by Congress’s victory in Karnataka, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MP A Revanth Reddy today expressed confidence that his party would achieve a similar victory in Telangana and subsequently in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“Karnataka results today will be repeated in Telangana tomorrow. Later, the Congress flag will fly high on the Red Fort,” Revanth Reddy told reporters after visiting a Hanuman temple here.

He claimed that the Karnataka election results would bring a tsunami of change in national politics.

He said that JD(S)’s failure in Karnataka elections is the defeat of the Chief Minister of Telangana.

Telangana assembly elections are due later this year.

Congress is trying hard to return to power in Telangana.

Apart from organizing various mass contact programs by individual leaders, the party recently organized a public rally which was attended by AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
