The alleged assailants, Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana’s Mahendragarh, reportedly intended to flee the country and were allegedly promised Rs 50,000 each for Gogamedi’s assassination.
The Delhi and Rajasthan police apprehended the two suspects, along with their accomplice Udham Singh, at Hotel Kamal Palace in Chandigarh on Saturday night. Singh had supposedly provided logistical support to help them evade arrest.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goel stated that the trio has been taken to Jaipur for further questioning, and the weapons used in the crime have yet to be recovered.
Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav mentioned that the Delhi Police had been tracking the shooters since they killed Gogamedi on December 5. After the incident, the attackers fled to Didwana, took a bus to Delhi, and then traveled to Hisar by train. CCTV footage from Hisar railway station showed the duo leaving the station.

Following these events, the suspects met Udham Singh, who assisted them in evading the police. The trio then hired a taxi to Manali, stayed there briefly, and returned to Chandigarh on December 9. Using forged Aadhar cards, they booked a room at Hotel Kamal Palace, where they were eventually apprehended.
Delhi police officials suspected that Rohit Rathore had connections with Virender Charan, believed to be involved in planning Gogamedi’s murder at the behest of foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara. Godara claimed responsibility for Gogamedi’s killing on Facebook shortly after the incident.

The accused, Rathore and Fauji, had allegedly planned to escape the country, with promises of passports and visas. Their intended route was towards Goa and further into South India, according to sources. Fauji, a native of Mahendragarh, had reportedly not returned to the Indian Army after his leave period, engaging in criminal activities in Haryana. Fauji had a history of involvement in a kidnapping case and an attack on a police officer in Haryana, while Rathore also had previous criminal records and a history of incarceration.
