Katargam: Liquor worth 22 lakhs seized in Katargam. Surat News – Times of India

Surat: State Monitoring Cell (SMC) of Gujarat Police has conducted a major raid in Surat. queuing Police seized liquor worth Rs 22 lakh in the area. Police found a truckload of liquor from a place near the elephant temple in Katargaram and after opening the boxes, a total of 19,656 bottles were found. SMC sources said that in view of the huge amount involved, Katargam police may be acted upon.
SMC raided the spot while distributing liquor bottles by a Bhavesh Patil Whom the police arrested. Investigation revealed that Bharat alias Patti and Kalubhai, residents of Chowk Bazar, had ordered liquor stock in the city. The police have declared both the driver and two others wanted in the case.
The liquor was brought to Surat from Goa via Maharashtra in a truck. Police also seized trucks, two mobiles along with liquor stock worth Rs 30 lakh.
