Kerala: At least 16 people have died after a boat capsized in Kerala’s Malappuram district, Minister V Abdurahman said on Sunday.
At present, rescue efforts are going on.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the death of people in the boat accident. He also announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. “Saddened by the death of people due to boat accident in Malappuram, Kerala. Condolences to the bereaved families. An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF will be provided to the next of kin of each of the deceased,” PMO said. a tweet.
