VISAKHAPATNAM: After rain in tribal areas Alluri Sitarama Raju District On Sunday and Monday, huge boulders fell from the hills on the Kothavalasa-Kirandul (KK) line, disrupting the movement of trains.
The tracks were badly damaged for about 40 to 50 metres. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone.
But between the Borra Caves and the Karakavalsa, huge boulders fell KK Line Around 5.30 pm, many trains were canceled and some were also diverted. Train number 18514 Visakhapatnam – Kirandul Night Express scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam on Monday was cancelled. Waltair Railway team reached the spot for repair and restoration of the line.
Waltair Railway Division Senior DCM AK Tripathi said that train number 18513 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Night Express leaving Kirandul on Tuesday, train number 08551 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger leaving Visakhapatnam were cancelled. While train number 08552 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger leaving on Wednesday will remain cancelled.
Train No. 18513 Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Night Express that left Kirandul on Monday will be diverted via Koraput, Damanjodi, Rayagada and Vizianagaram to reach Visakhapatnam. Araku’s stay is over.
