Last ship of cruise season arrives at New Mangalore Port – Times of India

Mangaluru: marineEighth cruise ship and last of current season arrives New Mangalore Port Monday morning at 8.30.
marshall islands The flagged ship arrived at NMPA with 550 passengers and 400 crew members at berth with berth no-4 in the port.
The ship had earlier called at Cochin port and will leave for Mormugao port from Mangaluru.
The ship has an overall length of 180.05 metres, a carrying capacity of 30,277 gross tonnes and a draft of six metres.
Cruise passengers were given a traditional welcome as they disembarked.
Various arrangements were made for a pleasant experience of the cruise passengers such as: medical screening of passengers, multiple immigration and customs counters for faster movement, buses and taxis for passengers to travel to various places in and around Mangaluru city.
Cruise passengers took advantage of a meditation center set up by the Department of AYUSH inside the cruise lounge.
Clothes and handicraft shops were also kept open for the tourists.
Tourists clicked photos in front of the selfie point set up by the Ministry of Tourism.
For the entertainment of the passengers, the port organized Bharatanatyam and cultural dance performance at the cruise lounge, which was well received by the tourists.
An LED screen displaying visual information about the port infrastructure and various tourist places in the vicinity was installed. Online Feedback System launched for the first time.
The yatris visited various tourist places like Achal Cashew Factory, Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple, St. Aloysius Chapel, Local Market, Pilikula Artisan Village, Hajar Khambe Basadi and Sons Farm. Cruise passengers were given souvenirs when they were returning to their ship.
The ship left for its next destination at 4.30 pm.

Since it was the beginning after the pandemic, only eight ships called at New Mangalore Port with 3,602 passengers.
However, the port receives an average of 25 ships a year with an average passenger flow of 27,000.
Already 13 ships have confirmed their voyages for the upcoming cruise season and the number is expected to rise as the cruise tourism industry continues to see a steady rise in passenger registrations following the pandemic.
