Professional social networking platform LinkedIn has introduced new tools to help job seekers feel safe and confident in their job search.

New tools include job verification, profile verification and message alerts.

LinkedIn will now start showing ‘verifications related to job posts’, displaying verified information about job posters or their company.

“When you see verification on a job post, it means that the job post contains information that has been verified as authentic by LinkedIn or one of our partners,” LinkedIn said in a blogpost on Monday.

According to the company, these new verifications help job seekers feel confident in their search and allow recruiters to build trust with potential candidates.

“Verification on job postings is just getting started, and as we expand access to our free verification tools, you’ll see even more of the jobs you’re searching for,” LinkedIn said.

In addition, under Profile Verification, the company introduced new free ways users can verify their identity, work email address and workplaces on LinkedIn.

With the Message Alert tool, the company will now alert users if messages on LinkedIn contain high-risk content that could affect their security.

For example, the company will alert users if a message asks them to interact on another platform, as this can sometimes be a sign of a scam. If something doesn’t look right, these warnings will also give them the option to report the content without letting the sender know.
