Liquor stock seized in mid-sea raid Rajkot | Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: In a pre-dawn mid-sea operation, the Gir-Somnath police seized a huge quantity of liquor being ferried from the union territory of Diu into the state and arrested three people.
The operation was carried out some three nautical miles off Nava Bandar at around 5am, and police seized the stock of liquor and beer along with the boat. The total value of the stock is around Rs 7.61 lakh.Those arrested were Ismail Pateliya, Mayur Kapadiya and Bharat Solanki, while a hunt has been launched for listed bootlegger Mahesh alias Munno Rathod.
Assistant superintendent of police Jitendra Agrawal said that the cops had received specific information about the liquor trafficking through the sea. Pateliya, who owns the boat, told police that liquor stock was loaded from Rathod’s residence in Una town and it was to be delivered at Jafrabad in Amreli district. TNN
