Liquor worth 35L seized near Vasad Vadodara | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: Around 700 boxes of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 35 lakh were seized from truck parked near Vasad toll plaza in Anand district on Monday.
Police said the boxes contained a total of 34,800 bottles. The truck was parked in the parking lot of a highway eatery and the boxes were enveloped in wooden racks.
The cops arrested truck driver Vikas alias Mahendrasinh Jat, a 36-year-old resident of Mohinagar in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
They are also searching for two other accused, including Rinku Jat, a resident of Mohinagar and Idriskhan Pathan, a native of Indore, who currently lives in Maharashtra’s Dhule.

The box was found during a joint search operation by police and Army in Palanwallah area near the Line of Control. The recovered items include one IED, one pistol, two pistol magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, and nine grenades. An FIR has been registered and an investigation has been initiated.
Telangana polls: Huge cash, gold, liquor and drugs worth Rs 709 cr seized
The Telangana Legislative Assembly polls scheduled on November 30 have witnessed an unprecedented surge in seizures related to election malpractices. From October 9 to November 26, a staggering Rs 709 crore worth of cash, liquor, drugs, and gold have been confiscated. This marks a tenfold increase compared to the 2018 assembly polls (Rs 145 crore) and the 2019 parliamentary elections in Telangana (Rs 84 crore). In the current election, each voter is reportedly receiving payments ranging from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 due to the keen competition among candidates. Numerous videos have surfaced showcasing voters being offered bribes and liquor. Additionally, a variety of freebies, including rice, cookers, sewing machines, mobile phones, sarees, T-shirts, lunch boxes, clocks, four-wheelers, two-wheelers, and imitation jewelry, have been seized.
