Kanpur: Chaos prevailed on Etawah-Agra National highway when a DCM truck loaded with chicken met with an accident near Sarai Bhopat Railway Station in Etawah on Wednesday, reports Faiz Siddiqui.
After the accident, a strange situation arose when the locals, instead of helping, looted the livestock. Some of them came with big sacks to loot chickens. Not only this, people traveling in luxury vehicles also took full advantage of the opportunity and looted the chickens.A video of the incident has gone viral on social media in which people can be seen hastily collecting chickens and fleeing the scene. On Wednesday morning around 9 am, a DCM truck heading towards Agra, overturned due to a tyre burst on the national highway in front of Sarai Bhopat railway station. The DCM truck had more than 2000 chickens. However, within some time, the nearby locals reached there and looted the chickens. As soon as the police got information about this, police-out-post in-charge Kapil Kumar reached the spot with the team and prevented the crowd which was on a looting spree.
The situation became such that there was a jam on both sides of the road.tnn
