Lok Sabha elections may be held ahead of time: CM Nitish said to the officials – get the work done quickly, elections can be held this year too

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has expressed apprehension that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections may be held ahead of time. On Wednesday, Nitish told the officials at Ane Marg that it is not necessary that the Lok Sabha elections should be held on time, it can be held this year as well.

He said that no one can say when the elections will be held. That’s why the schemes of the poor and Dalit-Mahadalits should be put on the ground fast. Nitish instructed his officers to complete whatever work is left as soon as possible. The Chief Minister gave these instructions to the officers while inaugurating projects worth crores of rupees.

Inaugurated 5,061 schemes
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 6680.67 crore from the Sankalp Auditorium of 1 Anne Marg through video conferencing. Inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 5,061 schemes of the Rural Works Department. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that today the foundation stone of 5,061 schemes has been laid at a cost of 6,680.67 crore. I thank the Rural Works Department for this.

Now the expenditure of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is 50-50
The Chief Minister said that in the year 2000, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had started the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Under this, 100 percent amount was given by the central government. The people who are in the central government now, changed it to 60:40 in the year 2015.

If we look at the expenditure of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, now it has become 50-50. Earlier, roads were constructed in areas with a population of 1000 under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Later it was increased to 500 population.

Started Chief Minister’s Village Road Scheme
The Chief Minister said that on our part, we started the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana to connect villages with a population of 500 to 1000. Later plans were made to connect villages with a population of more than 250. Under the Gramin Tola Sampark Nischay Yojana, a plan was made to connect rural tolls with a population of 100 to 250 with metalled roads.

It consists of people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Extremely Backward Classes. Earlier, there were no roads in the poor, scheduled caste-tribe, extremely backward areas. In 2016, we decided to do this under the Saat Nischay Yojana.
