Ludhiana court sentences 13 cops to 5-year RI in corruption case | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: A Ludhiana court in Punjab has sentenced thirteen police officials to five-year rigorous imprisonment each in a corruption case.
The court of Special Judge Dr Ajit Atri also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each on the convicts and in default of payment of fine, they will have to further undergo rigorous imprisonment for two months each.
The convicts included SI Darshan Ram, head constables Milkha Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Sartaj Singh, Amrik Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Amrik Singh, Jai Kishan, Baldev Singh, constables Palwinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Amrik Singh and SPO Prem Singh whereas an accused in the case Subhash Chander Kundra was acquitted by the court and proceedings against SI Balbir Singh and Jagjit Singh (both since deceased) was already abated as per orders in 2012 and 2018 respectively.
