A case of human sacrifice has come to the fore in Nashik district of Maharashtra. Police said on Saturday that a nine-year-old child was killed to offer human sacrifice. Four people have been arrested in this case. According to the police, this sensational incident took place on July 16 in Malegaon taluka in greed of getting buried treasure.

The police officer said that the child was abducted while playing in the field of Pohen Shivar village. The accused slit his throat and half buried the body in the ground. A murder case was registered after the body was found on July 18. All the four accused are residents of the same village. Police said the accused have been identified as Umaji More (42), Roma More (25), Ramesh Sonavane (21) and Ganesh Sonavane (19).
