Maharashtra Congress takes stock of 41 Lok Sabha seats, to review Mumbai constituencies, Chandrapur separately

Maharashtra Congress has taken stock of 41 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, while six constituencies in Mumbai and Chandrapur seat will be reviewed separately, state party president Nana Patole Where is it?

The allocation of seats will be discussed in the meeting of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Mr Patole said on June 3.

Maharashtra sends 48 members to the Lok Sabha.

Talking to reporters on the last day of the two-day review meeting of the Congress, Mr. Patole said that his party is ready to fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with enthusiasm and determination to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party.

“Review of 41 Lok Sabha constituencies (out of total 48) has been completed. Chandrapur and six constituencies in Mumbai will be reviewed separately. The discussions have been positive. Congress workers want the party to contest on maximum number of seats.

The tripartite MVA comprises Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress.

“Congress has organizational strength in all constituencies. It has a huge following. People’s faith in Congress has strengthened. Seat-allocation will be discussed in Maha Vikas Aghadi meeting. All parties in alliance will discuss and decide ” Allocation of seats. We are determined to defeat the BJP.

In the 2019 general elections, the Congress won only one seat – Chandrapur – out of 25 it contested, while its ally NCP emerged victorious in four of the 19 constituencies where it fielded candidates. The BJP won 23 of the 25 seats it contested, while its then ally Shiv Sena (undivided) won 18 of the 23 seats.

The Chandrapur seat fell vacant recently after the death of sitting Congress MP Suresh alias Balu Dhanorkar.

“The countdown has begun for the Narendra Modi-led BJP government. For the last nine years, public money has been looted and pocketed by the industrialist friends of the Prime Minister. People are tired of this loot, and They will not think twice before pulling down the BJP from power in the Lok Sabha polls, Mr Patole claimed.

He said that the wind of change is blowing in the country and people consider Congress as the only option.

He said, ‘The glimpse of this public sentiment was seen in the two-day review meeting of the Congress. Party workers are full of enthusiasm. The party is ready to contest elections anytime.
