Meanwhile, heavy police arrangements have been made at the luxury hotel at Magdalla crossroads in Surat where the MLAs are camping. The movement of unauthorized persons has been banned.
Political turmoil in Maharashtra over cross-voting in favor of BJP by ruling party MLAs is being blamed for the sudden disappearance of MLAs from Mumbai and reaching Surat. Growth could lead to instability in the future Uddhav Thackeray government, the sources claimed.
Sources related to developments in Gujarat BJP said that Shinde and other rebel leaders were in touch with Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil. After reaching Surat, the group of MLAs claimed to have met Patil.
Patil said, “I am in Gandhinagar. I have come to know that the MLA has come to Surat.” He declined to comment further on the issue for the time being.
