Around 30,000 teachers will be recruited in Maharashtra, possibly by the start of the academic year next month, state school education minister Deepak Kesarkar has said. The minister told a regional news channel on Tuesday that the recruitment process will follow the existing reservation norms and interviews will also take place.

“The state school education department will recruit 30,000 teachers in the first phase. We are looking to complete the process before the start of the new academic year in June this year,” he said.

Kesarkar said the state is also planning to recruit 20,000 more teachers in the second phase.
