Thane: One person was arrested during a raid at a lodge in Thane’s Mira Bhayander area. Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Friday for allegedly pushing his wife inside prostitution along with his partner, an official said on Sunday.
The police freed two women during the raid.
A police officer said the police had specific information about a sex racket being run by a man who used to charge customers Rs 10,000 for serving women in the area.
The racket was busted when the police lured a bogus customer to a lodge and then raided it.
The police have arrested two people, including a man and his accomplice, who pushed his wife into prostitution.
Two women have been rescued and sent to the shelter home.
A case has been registered under sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and the Indian Penal Code.
