In 2018, Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu made a grand debut in the multiplex business by collaborating with Asian Groups to open AMB Cinemas at Gachibowli in Hyderabad. Now, the actor is making headlines again as he prepares to open his second theatre in the city.
As per reports, Mahesh Babu is gearing up to make a significant investment in RTC Crossroads. He will once again collaborate with Asian Cinemas to launch AMB Classic, an upscale multiplex under the AMB Cinemas brand. The new seven-screen cinema hall will be situated at RTC Cross Roads, the same place where the iconic Sudharsan 70 MM theatre (which shut down in 2010) once stood.

On the work front, Mahesh Babu was recently seen in the Telugu-language action drama film Guntur Kaaram, written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. Produced by S. Radha Krishna under the banner of Haarika & Hassine Creations, the movie features Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil and Rao Ramesh in lead roles. Released worldwide on January 12, 2024, coinciding with Sankranti, Guntur Kaaram received mixed reviews from critics.
Currently, Mahesh Babu is busy shooting for his upcoming movie, tentatively titled SSMB 29, directed by S.S. Rajamouli. While the exact title and premise of the movie are still under wraps, reports suggest that SSMB 29 will be India’s Indiana Jones, with Mahesh Babu portraying the role of Lord Hanuman. Writer Vijayendra Prasad recently mentioned in an interview that Hollywood stars will be brought in for an action-packed sequence set in Africa. Although the cast and crew members have not yet been revealed officially, rumours suggest that Deepika Padukone will play the female lead role. As a result, SSMB 29 is undoubtedly becoming a highly anticipated film experience.
