During an interview with ETimes, Mahesh Bhatt revealed that his appearance at the Met Gala will act as a precursor to his big Hollywood debut which is all set to release later this year. “I see Alia’s appearance at the Met Gala event as a precursor to the release of Heart of Stone, which is Netflix’s pricier property that they are releasing somewhere later this year,” he added. So, I think that kind of sets the mood for that scenario to become more visible and then slowly build from there.
He further elaborated, “Cannes and the Met Gala are prestigious events and the eyes of the world follow. International upmarket, glamor brands look for a face to represent them in our country, which has a sizeable population and a sizable upper middle class that has an appetite for products manufactured by these labels. I think this could also be one of Aaliyah’s possible targets.

In the video, while Alia was getting ready for the event, she opened up about being socially awkward and how she is still in the film business. “When you first talk about major events globally, the first event that comes to your mind is the Met Gala and of course, we keep seeing the images every year. I can see the energy on the road, in terms of focus, attention and enthusiasm. That nervousness is really going to affect me. Thing is again, I am very socially awkward and shy. It’s so weird how I’m an actor and I’m literally in the movie business, which requires you to be, you know, center stage, the spotlight, whatever it is.
He then shared that he needed Priyanka Chopra’s help to go to the bathroom. “Priyanka and I were talking about it yesterday. It’s like ‘you go in, and you find us’. And, I’m like ‘Well, of course because you have to take me to the bathroom. I won’t be able to go myself.'”
Speaking about her Met Gala look on Instagram, Alia said, “I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, Karl Lagerfeld’s genius shines through in the most innovative and surprising couture. My look tonight was inspired by this and specifically supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.
“I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and was proudly made in India. The embroidery made of 100,000 beads is a labor of love by @prabalgurung. I am so proud to be wearing you for my first mate. A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complete the look which in our case translated into pearl bows on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Chop-Ed,” he added.
