West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee went inside a house where women were preparing to make momos. Banerjee told him that she also wanted to make momos.

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee Visited Darjeeling from where he is set to return to Kolkata. Whenever she goes to the hills, she is known to interact with the common people. This time too it was no different, as he took walks and talked to people. She went inside a house where women were preparing to make momos. Banerjee told him that she also wanted to make momos. From making maida mash to making small puris for momos, Banerjee immediately threw herself into it.

He helped put the chicken stuffing inside the momos and also supervised the making of the soup. Meanwhile, several locals were trying to take pictures of her as she was at it. Watch the video here:

While he made momos today, yesterday he interacted with the local children and gave them chocolates. Actually, making momos has become a ritual. When the Chief Minister visited there three years ago, he had made momos. Two years ago, Banerjee had also made tea at a small shop.

Yesterday, she also served “Panipuri” or “Phuchka” to people at a stall during her Darjeeling visit and a video of the incident went viral on social media. In the Sunday Haat organized by the Self Help Group, the Chief Minister served snacks and also listened to the difficulties faced by a woman running the shop in running the business alone. Banerjee also bought phuchkas for some children in the area.

A senior Trinamool Congress leader said, “Didi is like this; she is always with the people. We are proud to be a down-to-earth CM.”
