Fatehpur: A day after a woman was found murdered by slitting her throat here, her lover was arrested on Saturday for murder. Police gave this information.
The accused Rahul Gupta was in a relationship with Saraswati Devi for more than a year and he had impregnated her. He said that he killed her because she was pressurizing him to marry her.
The woman was found dead with her throat slit at her home in Abunagar here on Friday. She was alone at home at the time of the incident. According to the police, when they returned home, his body was found by his mother and brother.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Fatehpur, Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “We have arrested one Rahul Gupta, who killed a 20-year-old woman with whom he was in a relationship. The accused told us that he killed her. because she had become pregnant. Him and she was forcing him to marry her.”
According to information received from Devi’s mobile phone, she and Gupta were in a relationship for more than a year. The SP said that he had threatened her that she would approach the police if he did not marry her.
“Rahul’s family has already fixed his marriage with another woman and he was pressurizing Devi to get an abortion.
Singh said, “On Friday, finding the woman alone in the house, Rahul killed her by slitting her throat with a sharp object.
He told that the accused has confessed to his crime and has been sent to jail.
