Man Hacked To Death In Crowded Surat Market | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A simmering enmity between a man and his nephew ended with macabre climax as the latter was murdered in Udhna’s crowded marketplace as onlookers watched in horror the grisly crime unfolding before their eyes on Thursday.
The 37-year-old, identified as Bhajan Singh Siklikar, was attacked by four people with swords and his hand was chopped off, minutes after he left his sister’s house.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the murder was orchestrated by his uncle Bhav Singh who harboured a grudge after the duo quarrelled during a relative’s wedding in Pune last month. They clashed thrice after the fight and one incident was reported at Pandesara police station. Udhna police inspector SN Desai said: “During the fight, Bhajan Singh attacked Bhav Singh with a kirpan. After the Pandesara incident, they struck a truce but Bhav Singh remained embittered.”
Bhajan Singh, who lived in Pandesara, was visiting his sister in Udhna, when his SUV was waylaid by four men. Before Bhajan Singh could react, they dragged him out and attacked him with swords.
Bhajan Singh’s brother has named Bhav Singh as the mastermind and alleged that he operates a gang involved in liquor trafficking and country liquor.
