Manish Sisodia will be produced in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court today in the ED case related to Delhi Liquor Policy. Here the investigating agency can demand to increase their custody. Sisodia’s custody, given to the agency probing money laundering in the liquor policy, is ending today. On April 16, the court granted his custody to the ED till April 29.

On the other hand, on April 28, the court refused to grant bail to the former deputy CM in the ED case. This decision was given by Special Judge MK Nagpal. He said that Sisodia was the real brain behind the criminal conspiracy. Judge MK Nagpal directed the CBI to provide the e-copy of the supplementary charge sheet filed on April 25 to Sisodia’s counsel.

At the same time, Sisodia’s lawyer Dayan Krishnan has said that he will appeal against this decision of the court in the High Court. On April 27, the court extended Sisodia’s custody till May 12 in the CBI case.

Justice Nagpal said – Sisodia is the mastermind of the scam
While denying bail to Manish Sisodia, the court said that he had changed the qualification of liquor vendors and their profit margin. Sisodia did this without consulting the ministers. Sisodia changed the Group of Ministers report according to the needs of the South Lobby. ED has evidence that Sisodia is involved in money laundering crime. Therefore, the bail application of Sisodia is dismissed.

Sisodia’s lawyer Rishikesh had argued in the court that he could be granted bail on the basis of incomplete charge sheet or incomplete investigation. The decision on the bail pleas of Rajesh Joshi and Gautam Malhotra, accused along with Sisodia in the case, will come on May 6.

Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was arrested on 26 February. ED arrested Sisodia on 9 March.

Hearing on bail in CBI case going on in High Court
During the Delhi High Court hearing on bail in the CBI case, the bench told the CBI that if you have the evidence on which you trust, show it to us as well. The ASG had argued on behalf of the CBI that Sisodia was capable of pressurizing people. The day he was arrested, he broke his phone.

On this, the court asked for proof – do you have proof? We cannot go into much detail in the phase of bail. You show the evidence that you are relying on yourself.

Wife Seema’s condition deteriorated, hospitalized
On the other hand, the health of Manish Sisodia’s wife Seema Sisodia has deteriorated. Seema is admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi. He is suffering from multiple sclerosis and his condition is getting worse. In the last hearing, Dayan Krishnan had said that the lower court did not consider the medical condition of the AAP leader’s wife. Significantly, Manish Sisodia is in jail for 62 days.

CBI arrested Sisodia on 26 February
Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 after 8 hours of questioning in connection with irregularities in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. He appeared in the court on February 27, from where Sisodia was sent to 7-day remand. After this, on March 6, the court sent Sisodia to Tihar Jail in judicial custody for 14 days.

Meanwhile, on March 1, the ED had arrested Amandeep Singh Dhal, a businessman, in connection with money laundering in the Liquor Policy case. After questioning Amandeep, the agency arrested another businessman, Arun Ramachandra Pillai, on March 6. After this, ED reached Tihar Jail with both the accused and started questioning Manish Sisodia in the money laundering case. On March 9, the agency arrested Sisodia from jail itself.
